Happy Friday! We are now officially over halfway through the 100 Horror Movies in 92 Days Challenge! I also have officially hit my 100 as of last night! My watching will probably continue to slow down, due to other movie-watching commitments for articles and my book progress. That said, I will still do these updates either weekly or bi-weekly for the duration. There is always something interesting to share!
Here are my 100 Horror Movies in 92 Days 2025- Week 7 highlights:
- Dangerous Animals– A savvy and free-spirited surfer is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer. Held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below. I didn’t expect to love this one nearly as much as I did. It was a wild ride that really had me on the edge of my seat.
- Tokyo Videos of Horror 2– After the popular horror series “The Real Deal! Cursed Videos” (Honto ni Atta! Noroi no Video) and “Sealed Videos” (Fūin eizō) unleashed a new generation in horror, the collection has now reached its ultimate point! The occult, the grotesque, the gruesome madness and criminal behaviour of man, and of course, spiritism. A variety of hundreds of videos were recorded by chance in home movies, for example, and buried in the darkness. The Tokyo Videos of Horror is a fairly prolific series that has 4 of its entries on FoundTV. The 2nd was my favorite of the 4 I saw. They won’t hit for everyone, but if you like those “did I just see something in the mirror” type found footage, they are worth the short runtimes.

- The Jester 2– When teen magician Max crosses paths with the sinister Jester on Halloween night, she must outsmart a supernatural killer whose magic is all too real and whose tricks always end up in blood. As I said in today’s Horrorverse, “The Jester 2 has some gateway slasher vibes, similar to Clown in a Cornfield or the Fear Street series. It’s got autumnal vibes, fun kills, and interesting lore not present in the first film. I’m not typically a slasher fan, but the supernatural elements in the series make this more palatable for me. I can definitely see myself revisiting this series as an annual October watch.”
- The White Reindeer– A newly-married woman becomes frustrated as her husband, a reindeer herder for an Arctic village, spends much of his time away. Desperate for affection, she visits a shaman who offers a potion that makes her irresistibly desirable, with unexpected and deadly results. This film is in the second folk horror boxset from Severin (also streaming), and I can see why it was selected. The White Reindeer is absolutely stunning. I think it would make an interesting double feature with Onibaba.
- The Seventh Victim– After young Mary Gibson discovers that her older sister Jacqueline has disappeared, she leaves her boarding school and heads to New York City to track down her sibling. But Mary gets drawn deeper into the mystery. I don’t want to spoil this one, but I can assure you that tissues are necessary for this beautiful punch to the gut.
As always, I hope you find something new to watch from my highlights! Be sure to follow along with my list on Letterboxd and join the challenge’s Discord server. We are still going strong with weekly watch parties on Fridays and Sundays, giveaways, and more, so be sure to head over there ASAP. What were your Week 7 favorites? What are your plans for Week 8? Let me know in the comments below! Happy watching!
