Happy June! As usual, it’s time for me to share the June 2026 gastro horror releases. Much like last month, there aren’t a ton of gastro horror films coming to streaming or hitting new streamers. That said, there are a couple of releases this month that I really think are worth checking out. Cannibal Mukbang is a long-time favorite! I did a Q&A with the director during its run at the Chattanooga Film Festival, and we had Aimee and April on Final Girls Feast for an episode! You’re here for the movies, though, so let’s get to it!
June 1st
- Mulva: Demon Ass Kicker (2025)- 25 years after kicking zombie ass, an all-new Mulva is here to ward off a couple of moronic bullies as well as a demon invasion threatening to derail yet another Halloween party in this 2025 reboot. (Bloodstream TV)
- Raw (2016)- Stringent vegetarian Justine encounters a decadent, merciless, and dangerously seductive world during her first week at veterinary school. Desperate to fit in, she strays from her principles and eats raw meat for the first time. She soon experiences terrible and unexpected consequences as her true self begins to emerge. (Shudder) Editor’s Note: This will only be on Shudder for the month of June.
- Street Trash (1987)- A group of hobos begins melting into multicolored piles of goo after drinking sixty-year-old liquor. At the same time, the psychotic Vietnam War vet who rules the hobo camp snaps and begins killing at random. Two brothers set out to stop the liquor and the killer. (Bloodstream TV)
- Thinner (1996)- An obese lawyer finds himself growing “Thinner” when an old Romani man places a hex on him. Now the lawyer must call upon his friends in organized crime to help him persuade the old man to lift the curse. Time is running out for the desperate lawyer as he draws closer to his own death and grows ever thinner. (Tubi)
June 15th
- Cannibal Mukbang (2023)- Shy and looking for love, Mark quickly becomes smitten with the outgoing and mysterious Ash. But as his feelings for her intensify, so does his unexpected submersion into Ash’s biggest love: the wild world of mukbanging. And with it, lots of bloodshed. (Shudder)
June 22nd
- In My Skin (2002)- After a disfiguring leg injury, a young woman develops an unsettling secret relationship with her own body in which pain is pleasure, mutilation is love, and hungers of the flesh have a mind of their own. (Shudder)
