Sarah’s Most Anticipated 2026 Horror Releases

June is almost over, which means it’s time for me to talk about the releases coming out during the back half of 2026 that I’m excited about. I know I’m not unique in sharing my anticipated films for the rest of 2026. That said, my reasons for being excited about certain films may differ from those of other folks (or maybe not). In any case, I wanted to do it, so let’s get started!

    • Resident Evil Bryan, a medical courier, is in the process of making a delivery when a sudden outbreak occurs, forcing him to fight for survival. After watching a friend play through several Resident Evil games, I rewatched the movies. While I don’t love all of them, I have an appreciation for the world in which they take place and can’t wait to see what Zach Cregger does with the franchise.

    • Clayface Follow the terrifying descent into hell of a promising Hollywood actor who has become a monster driven by revenge, exploring the loss of identity and humanity, the ravages of toxic love, and the dark side of scientific ambition. Some things you may not know about me are that I have worked in a comic shop and that I have collected comics for a very long time. Batman and horror comics always topped my lists. With that in mind, it shouldn’t be a shock that I’m excited to see how Clayface leans into body horror and what this could mean for comic book films.

    • Evil Dead Burn After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life… live on even in death. The trailer for this film really makes me want to do an article about gastro horror in the Evil Dead franchise, similar to the one I did for the Final Destination franchise. What do y’all think? Should I?

    • Insidious: Out Of The Further Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house she grew up in, discovers she can travel into The Further, where she possesses an ability to bring what lives there back to the real world. Not going to lie, I’m in it for Lin Shaye.

    • Victorian Psycho In 1858, an eccentric young governess named Winifred Notty arrives at the remote gothic manor known as Ensor House. As Winifred assimilates into life at Ensor House, staff members begin to inexplicably disappear, and the owners of the estate begin to wonder if there is something amiss about their new governess. Last year, I was gifted the Victorian Psycho audiobook by my friend Candi. I was blown away by just how unhinged it was! If the film goes even half as hard, we’re in for a treat!

There are obviously other films I’m also looking forward to, but they just didn’t make the cut, or they didn’t have trailers yet (looking at you, Keenan and Kel Meet Frankenstein). What movies are you looking forward to? Should I do a list like this for non-horror films like last year? Let me know in the comments below!
