It’s wild to think that June is pretty much over! That means a couple of things: we’re heading into my birthday month and the 100 Horror Movies in 92 Days Challenge is almost upon us! In the meantime, there is a ton of gastro horror landing on streaming this July! Some films are just moving platforms. However, there are films like Saccharine that are making their streaming debut! There is a lot to choose from, and I even included a show this month! Let’s get to it!
July 1st
- Blink Twice (2024)- When tech billionaire Slater King meets cocktail waitress Frida at his fundraising gala, he invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. But despite the epic setting, beautiful people, ever-flowing champagne, and late-night dance parties, Frida can sense that there’s something sinister hiding beneath the island’s lush façade. (Peacock) Editor’s Note: This is really more gastro horror adjacent; however, there is enough food to warrant its inclusion on this list.
- Bones and All (2022)- Abandoned by her father, a young woman embarks on a thousand-mile odyssey through the backroads of America, where she meets a disenfranchised drifter. But despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and to a final stand that will determine whether their love can survive their otherness. (Amazon Prime Video)
- The Mist (2007)- After a violent storm, a dense cloud of mist envelops a small Maine town, trapping David Drayton and his five-year-old son in a local grocery store with other local residents. They soon discover that the mist conceals deadly horrors that threaten their lives, and worse, their sanity. (Plex)
- The Silence of the Lambs(1991)- Clarice Starling is a top student at the FBI’s training academy. Jack Crawford wants Clarice to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant psychiatrist who is also a violent psychopath, serving life behind bars for various acts of murder and cannibalism. Crawford believes that Lecter may have insight into a case and that Starling, as an attractive young woman, may be just the bait to draw him out. (Criterion Channel)
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)- A radio host is victimized by the notorious cannibal family while a former Texas marshal hunts them. (Plex)
July 11th
- The Last Thanksgiving (2020)- A family of cannibalistic pilgrims attacks a restaurant that stays open for Thanksgiving. (Bloodstream TV)
July 16th
- HeBGB TV (2022)- A multidimensional cable box installs itself into a neighborhood and slowly, the world. Two siblings discover a mysterious package on their porch and are taken on a wild channel-surfing journey through a world of television mayhem. Welcomed by their new friend, The Purple Guy (Knucklehead), this brother and sister find themselves standing up to the box’s algorithm to protect their minds. (Bloodstream TV) Editor’s Note: This isn’t 100% gastro horror, but it does have several segments that fit the bill.

July 24th
- Saccharine (2026)- After succumbing to an obscure weight-loss craze involving the eating of human ashes, lovelorn medical student Hana finds herself haunted by the ghost of the person she’s eating. (Shudder)
July 27th
- Hannibal (Seasons 1-3)- Hannibal explores the early relationship between renowned psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter and a young FBI criminal profiler who is haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers. (Netflix) Editor’s Note: I normally don’t include tv shows, but this is a highly anticipated release.
